Goldeneye, Goldfinches and chocolate daisies
Skeleton-leaf goldeneye with Lesser goldfinches

Yellow daisy like flowers of skeleton-leaf goldeneye bush and chocolate daisies are in sync with yellow colored Lesser goldfinches. Early summer brings bright yellow flowers and bright yellow goldfinches in the garden. They blend together and even large flocks of goldfinches go unnoticed in the garden.  But once in a while they can’t hold back their excitement and their frolicking and loud chirping gives them away.

The nyjer seed feeder does not appeal to them or to me at this time of the year.  For me, watching a large flock of goldfinches spread throughout my garden, trying to pick their favorite flower or seed, is lot more fun than watching them on a cylindrical feeder. Sometimes there are so many on the goldeneye bush it seems the plant decided to grow birds along with flowers.

Tender stalks of chocolate daisies bend down to the ground as birds feed on them.  Cool early morning breeze carrying sweet chocolate scent makes the flowers and birds dance together. These summer mornings are priceless
