Their garden and mine
Birds are returning from far away tropics. A long journey over oceans and mountains, jungles and dry lands. We welcome them to their home, to our home.
When they stop in my garden, their garden, would they find respite from hunger and hot sun?
So I garden for my kind and theirs. Both seek a calm place with cool breeze. Both love the joy of bird songs, buzzing bees and color all around. We both love to bite the juicy fruits, fresh from the trees. What I certainly do not have in common with them is their appetite for insects and that works in their favor and mine.
Whether they stay or have miles more to go on, I hope they remember this garden as a place they could count on.
